severed hand

So the assignment was to create a 3D object and place it into an actual location in or around your home. In honor of Halloween, I chose to model a severed hand and place it on my kitchen counter top. Why, oh why didn't I choose a tennis ball!?

And three days later...

Another Facebook interface post

I set up my blog to interface with Facebook and have had problems with it ever since. Facebook only shows the first couple of line of text and no images. As I continue to hammer out this issue, I'm making posts to my blog to test my changes. Let's see if this one comes through properly.

rusted metal lump on sidewalk

Bubbles redux

I think I've finally found the right combination of specular light and refraction. They're a little subtle, but pretty realistic I think.

Another attempt at arrays

Well, this is better. I'm getting some jagged edges around the bubbles and I can't seem to clean them up. But, all in all, I'm much more satisfied with this image than my spaceships.

spaceships

Here are my spaceships. Somehow I got the material coloring all messed up and couldn't seem to back out of it. So I used the lighting to try and make up the difference.

3D mushroom

This is mushroom I rendered in Blender. I still need to texture it. I've colored it, but without a good texture, it still looks a little weird.

Blender from scratch

Unlike the monkey which, was a pre-existing image I manipulated, this was created from scratch. Not bad for a first attempt. I'm going to start working on a new one using a screwdriver I have here in front of me.
